A Reiki session always begins with a brief update.  This allows the client to communicate how they need support, ask questions, or express any concerns they might have.  The client then relaxes on a massage table, often under a sheet for warmth. Reiki treatments with Lucy are 1:1 and are usually 1 hour to 1½ hours. You remain fully clothed. You will want to wear loose-fitting comfortable clothing. For your first session arrive 10min prior to complete health questionnaire.

Lucy will place her hands in various positions on or above the body to channel Reiki energy.  There is a protocol, or series of hand positions, and generally follows a head to toe of the front of body assessment/treatment and then back of the body assessment/treatment. The emphasis is placed on intuition and the practitioner being guided by Reiki to which areas need healing most. The chakras are also checked to note if they are balanced or not balanced and this is completed with a pendulum.

“Wherever the practitioner’s hands are placed on or above the body, the Reiki energy is drawn into the body through the practitioner’s to support balance and bring harmony to places that seem stagnant, sluggish or resistant.  The amount of Reiki energy or the time needed at any area is determined by the intelligence of the spiritual energy (Reiki) and the client’s own body or inner wisdom, not by the practitioner. The practitioner’s primary responsibility is to listen and respond to what Reiki and the energy of the client is asking or needing.” In addition, I also intuitively pick up on specific body issues.

Reiki is a method to discover and uncover your authentic self. Also, reiki messages come to me through intuitive stories, and adventures we take together throughout the treatment.

At the end of session the client is asked to sit up.  Plan for an additional 15min where Lucy  takes a few minutes to allow the client space to share about their experience and for Lucy to share her findings and adventures as well. This is also the client’s time to ground themselves before they re-enter the outside world.

It is common to fall asleep during a Reiki session.

After the first session, many clients return and purchase a series of sessions to progressively work on their current health and wellness goals.
